Graduate Assistant for Track & Field

Department: Athletics
Time Status: Part Time
Reports To: Head Coach, Track & Field

General Summary:
The GA will primarily assist in recruiting and coaching in areas as needed. Duties include but are not limited to the following: conducting practices and conditioning, recruiting, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, fundraising, scheduling and other coaching and administrative duties under direction of the Head Coach. To keep with Title IX requirements, women candidates are preferred.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to the following: conducting practices and conditioning, recruiting, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, fundraising, scheduling and other coaching and administrative duties under direction of the head coach.  

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

A qualified applicant will have an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 2.75 GPA/4.0 scale, be accepted in to Olivet’s School of Graduate & Continuing Studies, have personal success in collegiate Track & Field.

Graduate Assistants are provided a cash stipend and a tuition scholarship towards a graduate degree to be earned at Olivet Nazarene University. The selection process will continue until the position is filled.

As a member of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) and the NAIA, the University sponsors seventeen sports and has 432 student-athletes participating in the various programs.
