Ladies Day 2013 is a special event for women of all ages to share. On Saturday, April 6, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Betty and Kenneth Hawkins Centennial Chapel on Olivet’s campus, the messages and music are sure to inspire.

Featured at this year’s event are:

Gloria Gaither has touched the hearts of audiences worldwide, not only with her music and message, but also with the love of Jesus Christ. In addition to her stellar music career, she has written more than 40 books, including titles for adults and children, and created scripts for more than 100 videos. She and her husband, Bill Gaither, have been married for 50 years. Together, they have written more than 700 songs, and have received many Grammy Awards and Dove Awards for their many contributions to the gospel music industry. Named ASCAP Songwriters of the Century, they have also been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Allison Speer performs internationally at megachurches, evangelistic crusades, conventions and assemblies — as well as touring solo and with the Gaither Vocal Band and Gaither Trio. She has also appeared on the Gaither Homecoming videos, “The 700 Club” and The Trinity Broadcasting Network. Her latest recording, “The Holy Hills,” is packed with biblical truths. She is currently working on a new project, “Writer.”

• Olivet’s Proclamation Gospel Choir, directed by Jasper Taylor, is an 80-voice, high-energy ensemble. The group will perform traditional and contemporary gospel music.

Cost is $35 per person, which includes lunch and a special gift, and tickets are still available. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to Ladies Day 2013 announcement at olivet.edu or call 815-928-5791.
