Olivet Nazarene University is one of only five U.S. higher education workplaces — and the only one in Illinois — certified as a Best Christian Workplace for 2016.
This is the 11th consecutive year Olivet has earned this honor from Best Christian Workplaces Institute
(BCWI), an organization that provides consultation and research to help Christian workplaces flourish.
“Receiving this honor is always rewarding,” said David Pickering, Olivet’s director of business and human resources. “In addition, the information we receive gives our leadership and campus community a better understanding of the health of ONU. Our collective goal is to continue making ONU a great place to work — a place that models Christian virtues in how we interact with one another while we provide our students an education with a Christian purpose.”
To qualify for the Best Christian Workplace designation, Olivet was required to have employees complete the BCWI employee engagement survey. Eighty-percent of employees participated. Responses were assessed against BCWI standards in the areas of staff calling and passion, trustworthy culture, talent management, strategy and execution, innovation and staff involvement, authentic Christian leadership, personal development, compensation and benefits, and teamwork.
