When: Thursday, June 12, 2014 - Saturday, June 14, 2014
During Orientation, you will meet with your academic adviser and advising
group, review your class schedule, become acquainted with faculty members and
administrative personnel, sign up for your freshman room in a residence hall,
get familiar with the campus and meet a few hundred classmates! Your parents
will also get well informed on how they can best support your college
WHEN TO ARRIVE
Pre-Orientation activities will
begin Thursday, June 12, with a 7 p.m. worship service at Centennial Chapel,
followed by a dessert reception for families and a late-night activity for
students. Thursday’s activities are not required, but they will give you a
chance to begin meeting your fellow classmates, and will be especially helpful
if you are still looking to find a roommate. If you are arriving Thursday
evening, you should first check in at the front desk in Ludwig Center to
receive your Orientation housing assignments and keys.
Official check-in for Orientation —
including those who arrived on Thursday — will be on Friday, from 8:30–10:30 a.m. in the Centennial Chapel lobby. If you
have immunization records and your official, final transcripts, you may bring
them with you to check-in. Otherwise, plan to submit them before the first day
of classes. See the enclosed schedule for arrival details if you are planning
to take ACT or CLEP exams. Orientation will conclude by 11 a.m. on Saturday, June
Free Orientation housing will be provided in the residence halls for students
and parents. (Please note that students will be assigned housing separate from
their families.) Linens (pillow, blanket, sheets, towel, and washcloth) will be
supplied. Room keys may be picked up in Ludwig Center on Wednesday or Thursday
from 8 a.m.–midnight, and on Friday morning in the Centennial Chapel during the
official check-in hours. After Friday morning, housing information will be
available at Ludwig Center’s Information Desk.
