You will benefit from hands-on learning within recently renovated labs and with modern scientific instrumentation, including: spectrophotometers, centrifuges, video-microscopy unit, scanning electron microscope, analytical balances and electrophoresis systems. Olivet students also study within the Greer Botanical Greenhouse, and they learn anatomy using cadavers – a rarity among undergraduate programs.
Learning isn’t bound by the classroom walls. Recent Olivet excursions include:

- Arctic biology study trip, Alaska
- Habitat study, Indiana Dunes
- Observe sandhill cranes at Jasper Pulaski Wildlife Refuge, Medaryville, Ind.
- Field study at Mskoda Sands Black Oak Savanna, Kankakee, Ill.
- Vertebrate natural history and anatomy field project, Big Rock, Ill.
