What types of organizations are available for my student?
Students may choose to participate in a variety of organizations on campus, including service, departmental, music and spiritual life groups. For a complete list of organizations, click here.

How do I know if my student is eligible for financial aid?
The Office of Financial Aid can assist you in finding scholarships, grants, loans and other financial aid to help make education affordable.

How safe is campus?
Olivet, located in the quaint village of Bourbonnais, Ill., is a very safe campus. The Department of Public Safety is required by the U.S. Department of Education to maintain incident reports and daily logs for seven years. Crime statistics are available for review here or in the Department of Public Safety office.

What if my student does not get along with his/her roommate?
Roommates are encouraged to work with each other to solve problems. Resident assistants are available to help resolve situations.

How can I get information about my student’s academic progress?
Olivet complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, and sends academic information only to students. Parents may not have access to student records unless the University receives written permission from a student specifically addressing what information may be released.

What should I do if my student is homesick?
Students can speak with trusted resident assistants or professors about their concerns. Additionally, personal counseling is provided for a wide range of personal and social issues, including homesickness.

What if my student gets sick?
A registered nurse is available weekdays during the academic year. A local doctor also provides free medical exams for students by appointment through ONU’s Office of Health Services. For office hours and a list of services, click here.

Where can I get information about commencement weekend?
Commencement weekend includes the Phi Delta Lambda banquet, Nursing pinning ceremony, social work pinning ceremony, commencement concert, the baccalaureate service, and outdoor graduation ceremony. Specific information will be available in the spring on the Calendar of Events .

Where can I find the score of an athletic event?
Olivet posts current scores and athletic news on the Olivet Athletics page.

Where can I stay when I visit my student?
The Bradley-Bourbonnais area offers a range of overnight accommodations. Be sure to ask for a special Olivet rate.

Will I be able to park on campus when I visit my student?
Yes. Parking permits are not necessary for visitors who park in designated visitor parking areas conveniently located throughout campus. These spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
