Olivet Nazarene University has benefited from generous bequests and other gifts that have provided critical financial support for our ministry of Christian higher education.
The Olivet Nazarene University Heritage Society recognizes and honors those individuals whose future gifts will help strengthen Olivet through immediate and deferred gifts to Olivet Nazarene University or the Olivet Nazarene University Foundation. The endowment will provide a permanent legacy of Christian higher education.
Olivet Nazarene University Heritage Society members include special friends who have demonstrated their abiding commitment to the future of Christian higher education through provisions for Olivet Nazarene University or the Olivet Nazarene University Foundation in their estate plans. Included in the society are dedicated trustees, alumni, faculty, staff and friends who care enough to plan for Christian higher education at Olivet Nazarene University for generations to come.
Criteria for Membership
Membership in the Olivet Nazarene University Heritage Society is open to all those who notify us in writing that they have made future provisions to benefit Olivet Nazarene University or the Olivet Nazarene University Foundation. Membership planned gift options:
- A gift by will or revocable living trust
- A gift that provides life income to the donor: gift annuity, charitable remainder trust or pooled income fund
- A life tenancy agreement
- A charitable lead trust
- Naming Olivet Nazarene University or the Olivet Nazarene University Foundation as irrevocable owner or beneficiary of an insurance policy
- Naming Olivet Nazarene University as beneficiary of a qualified retirement plan
- Establishing an endowed fund or endowed memorial gift
Benefits of Membership
In addition to the deep sense of gratification that comes with making a personal contribution to the important mission of Christian higher education, members of the Olivet Nazarene University Heritage Society are entitled to:
- Personal income and estate tax benefits
- A specially designed Olivet Nazarene University Heritage Society membership certificate
- The Olivet Heritage, a newsletter containing valuable estate-planning information
- An invitation to select Olivet Nazarene University donor appreciation events
- Acknowledgment in Annual Report (request for anonymity will be respected)
