Dr. Maxson has a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University and his Ph.D. in Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University. His research area focuses on the doctrine of revelation in relation to the church and eschatology.
Dr. Maxson joined the faculty at Olivet Nazarene University in the fall of 2019. Prior to that, he served as the Dean of Digital Learning for Olivet among other administrative appointments. He is a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.
Dr. Maxson has presented research at the Christian Adult Higher Education Association Annual Conference, the Wesleyan Theological Society Conference, the Southeastern Commission for the Study of Religion, the Christian Scholars Conference and the Palcon Conference. He was a panelist at the Realizeit Executive Summit for adaptive learning and at the Christian Adult Higher Education Association Annual Conference for learning management systems.
