Bill Bahr

After earning his bachelor’s degree in public policy with a concentration in international relations, Coach Bahr began working at Olivet in 1998 as a graduate assistant in the chaplain’s office. In 1999, he became the associate chaplain. While there, he designed and implemented a short-term missions program. In 2002, he completed a master’s degree in business administration as he continued his work in the chaplain’s office.

In 2005, he became a full-time faculty member in the Department of Exercise and Sports Science. As a professor, he teaches sports law, and marketing and promoting of athletics. He is currently working on a second master’s degree in religion. In 2012, he received Olivet’s Faculty Member of the Year Award.

Since 1999, Coach Bahr has also served as Olivet’s head coach for women’s soccer. In November 2012, he reached his 175th win of his coaching career with an impressive 187-107-22 record with the Olivet Tigers. The team made history by competing for the NAIA National Championship Final. He was named the 2012 NAIA and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Coach of the Year.

In 2008, he led the Tiger women’s soccer team to the program’s first National Christian College Athletic Association tournament championship. He was named the 2009 Coach of the Year by the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC). In November 2010, he reached his 150th win of his coaching career with an impressive 135-95-18 record with the Olivet Tigers. In 2011, he was named the NAIA-Midwest Regional Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Coach Bahr is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In 2002, he completed his National Diploma; and in 2004, he completed his Advanced National Diploma.

Travel is one of his favorite leisure activities. He has visited 36 different countries and all the continents except Antarctica.

His wife, Kirstyn, teaches physical education at a local Elementary School in Bourbonnais. They have a daughter, Alaina, and a son, Grant. All are avid runners and have run together in Olivet’s Homecoming 2010 5K Run.
