Bourbonnais, IL 60914
Built in 1966, Reed Hall of Science is the home of the Department of Biological Sciences, Department of Physical Sciences and Department of Engineering. In addition to classrooms, labs and a lecture hall, the building also houses an observatory and a greenhouse. The freshwater aquarium in the lower level holds pike, striper, sunfish, bass, quillback, bluegill, orchids, lilies and 650 gallons of water. This represents a riverine type of system, based it on the Kankakee River ecosystem. Each academic year, two cadavers a male and a female arrive and take up residence here, providing professors and students with many unique study opportunities.
