Fall Revival at Olivet Nazarene University is a tradition that continues to hold meaning for students, faculty and staff. This year was no exception.

Dr. J. K. Warrick, a general superintendent emeritus of the Church of the Nazarene, was the guest speaker for Fall Revival 2017. He delivered eight special messages over four days. Sharing the love and redemption of Jesus Christ, he continually captured and held their attention.

Hearts opened. Lives changed. Forever.

When Dr. Warrick and his wife, Patty, arrived in Bourbonnais on Saturday before the revival began, Olivet’s Student Body President Tommy Lambrecht greeted them. He also presented Dr. Warrick with Olivet’s special brand of encouragement: a stack of notes and letters from the Associated Student Council representatives. That launched a milestone week of salvation and rededication experiences for many.

Dr. Warrick addressed the topic of darkness in his message on Monday morning, Sept. 18. He referenced many past and present tragedies and disasters. “God is in the business of redeeming us from the darkness,” he said. “God never leaves us in the darkness. He always brings us into the light of new life. God pushes back the darkness, and He does that through us.”

Five of the Fall Revival services took place at College Church of the Nazarene University Avenue in Bourbonnais. Dr. Mark Quanstrom ’77, dean of the School of Theology and Christian Ministry, is senior pastor. George Wolff ’93 planned and led the worship music.

Three services were held in the Betty and Kenneth Hawkins Centennial Chapel. University Chaplain Mark Holcomb ’81 and Joey Ramirez ’11, chapel worship leader, led those services.
