Written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, “You Can’t Take It with You” follows Alice Sycamore as she falls in love with Tony Kirby. When the families meet each other, the young couple quickly realize that their family dynamics couldn’t be more different. The play continually begs the question “Where do your priorities lie”? The heartwarming show is bound to make audiences laugh, cry and everything in-between.

“You Can’t Take It with You” will be performed on the stage of Kresge Auditorium at Olivet Nazarene University. Show times are Saturday, December 7, at 7 p.m.; Sunday, December 8, at 2 p.m.; Monday, December 9, at 7 p.m.; and Tuesday, December 10, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and senior adults over the age of 65. Tickets are available online at olivet.edu/tickets

This production features 19 talented student actors and is directed by Olivet seniors Abriella Caravette and Emily Curtis. Abriella is a multimedia communications major with a concentration in film studies and a minor in theatre, and Emily is a history major with a minor in theatre.

“Sometimes we, as humans, get caught up in what has to be done and forget about the everyday moments with the people around us that are so special,” Abriella says. “This show reminds us to take a moment to live in the moment, rather than focusing on the material things because in the end, you can’t take it with you.”
