Olivet hosts Day of Giving 2020

Powering Olivet one gift at a time!

April 23, 2020 Giving

From noon on April 23 to noon on April 24, 2020, Olivet Nazarene University is hosting a 24-hour philanthropic event, the Day of Giving. The University is inviting alumni, faculty, staff, community members, and even students to contribute to meeting the financial needs of current and future generations of Olivet students.

The purpose of the Day of Giving is to advance the student experience at Olivet through increased scholarship opportunities, enhanced academic resources and improved athletic programs. Visit www.olivet.edu/dayofgiving for updates on the event!

Hosted by the Office of Development, the goal the Day of Giving is to join with alumni and friends of the University to support the longevity of Olivet’s ability to offer an “Education With a Christian Purpose.” All gifts will benefit the University’s annual giving program, The Olivet Fund.

For over 79 years, Olivet has been an upstanding institution in Kankakee County. Every year, the University offers free events such as the Sounds of the Season Christmas concert and the Ovid Young Organ Recital Series; hosts sports camps to introduce young athletes to a university environment as they improve skills; performs stellar renditions of award-winning plays and musicals; and accommodates community events such as high school graduations, band concerts, and art festivals. Additionally, for the last 18 years, Olivet has hosted the Chicago Bears for their summer training camp, bolstering the growth of the local economy.

A university education is a hefty investment and 99 percent of Olivet students receive financial support in the form of scholarships, grants and loans. Scholarships are made possible through the generous gifts of donors. Development initiatives like the Day of Giving, ensure that generations of Olivet students will receive necessary financial assistance to pursue a robust education that encourages community involvement.

Olivet prepares students for lives of service, and countless alumni work in the community as educators, nurses, social workers, engineers and business owners, among other professional roles.

Consider taking a moment to make a moment and support students at Olivet by giving on April 23.
