This fall at Olivet Nazarene University, all students, staff, faculty and campus guests are expected to wear a face covering while on campus. To help keep everyone safe and covered, BamBams, LLC, owned by alumnus and president of Olivet’s Alumni Board, Dan Taylor ’79 generously donated 93,600 KN95 face masks to the University.
Earlier this summer, Taylor reached out to director of alumni relations, Erinn Proehl ’13 to express his willingness to make a large donation of masks. He not only offered to send the masks, but also to pay for the five pallets to be shipped.
The donation from BamBams will provide the campus community with access to KN95 masks, some of the safest on the market. Additionally, the company has partnered with the Olivet bookstore to sell Olivet-branded reusable cloth masks.
The University intends to distribute the masks strategically and purposefully. While students and employees are expected to bring their own face coverings to campus, this donation will make masks readily available, particularly in areas that have high population density such as academic buildings, labs, nursing clinicals, athletic practice facilities, the Office of Admissions, health services, public safety and physical plant. Each residential building will have masks available to students during move-in with additional masks available through requests to resident directors.
This donation of masks will help to keep the campus community safe as the University starts classes on August 17. For information about changes to campus operations for fall 2020, visit olivet.edu/update.
