The Olivet Nazarene University Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) team brought home 22 state titles at the PBL IL State Conference in Effingham, Illinois, held April 8-9, 2022. The PBL team is an academic-based extracurricular club primarily geared toward students in the McGraw School of Business, but also open to students pursuing other academic areas.
The team was awarded 10 1st place, six 2nd place, and six 3rd place finishes. Most of the events were individual, but several were team competitions. From those stellar finishes, Olivet had 13 national qualifiers for the PBL National Conference being held in Chicago this summer, June 24 -27.
Out of the seven schools present, Olivet is the second largest chapter – behind Illinois State University and the University of Illinois, which are tied for largest. The other education institutions that competed in the state conference were Southern Illinois, Heartland Community College, Lincoln Trail College and Illinois Central College.
