Professor Lauren Rouse joined the Exercise and Sports Science Department in 2023 serving as the Physical Education Program Coordinator. As an alumnus of Olivet, Professor Rouse is excited to give back to the community that shaped her as a professional and follower of Christ after having spent several years teaching Physical Education in k-8 schools. It is her goal to develop teacher candidates into professional educators who are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote the physical, social, emotional, and academic well-being of diverse student populations.

She seeks to ignite a passion in her students to pursue health and wellness for a lifetime and who will serve as advocates to younger generations. Professor Rouse holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as a Master’s Degree in Health and Wellness Education from American College of Education. Additionally, she holds certification as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. She enjoys exploring and studying in the areas of curriculum development, nutrition, behavioral diversity, and cross-curricular instruction.

As a fitness enthusiast, Professor Rouse spends her free time playing Pickleball, biking, and finding new places to hike.
