2023 Young Alumni Award: Anna (Grieder) Victorson ’14
“I didn’t plan to work in anything that resembled vocational ministry,” says Anna Victorson ’14. “My degree is in marketing, and I always saw myself joining corporate America and building my career there. God had other plans for me. Because of my time at ONU, I was open to where God was leading me.”
Today, Anna is described as “Director, Cheerleader, Detail-Oriented Doer, General Bringer of Sunshine and Joy” in her full-time work with Go + Tell Gals. She has helped grow this business from the beginning and enjoys the opportunities she has to coach women in their callings from God.
“I have a front-row seat to see women step into what God has for them,” she says. “I am passionate about helping women find the call God has placed on their lives and take steps forward to develop their gifts.”
Growing up on a farm outside Normal, Illinois, Anna couldn’t have imagined herself living outside Illinois. After graduating from ONU, she was an account manager with the American Red Cross in Bourbonnais. In 2016 she became a visual merchandiser and later an apparel department manager with Anthropologie® in Fort Worth, Texas. She joined founder, author and speaker Jess Connolly at Go + Tell Gals in 2018.
Anna values her ONU education in every area of her life.
“ONU prepared me for a life of ministering to others,” she says. “I’m still close with many people from my ONU days. Learning the higher purpose of life and education set the foundation for my life, wherever I go and whatever I’m doing. Even in corporate settings, I am a light for Christ and care for people along the way.”
One of Anna’s favorite ONU memories is the costumes and fun she and her friends created for Candy Costume Fest.
“We planned matching costumes and had a lot of fun doing it,” she says. “One year my roommate and I dressed as bacon and eggs!”
Anna met her husband, Jake ’14/’16 MBA, in a finance class during her sophomore year at ONU. They are the parents of Hampton, who was born in May 2023, and enjoy their dog, Hank, a Havanese. Their family lives in Charleston, South Carolina, where they are actively involved at Bright City Church.
