The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting is designed for students who are pursuing a career in public, corporate, governmental or generalist accounting. Students may choose a concentration from various options.

Accounting students receive hands-on experience in taxation, auditing, mergers & acquisitions, cost accounting, budget forecasting and more. This program is taught by CPAs, Attorneys, Ph.D.s – all of whom are academic and professional practitioners.

Quality Assurance

Olivet offers the opportunity to become certified in areas that are qualified and approved by national professional certification boards. These certifications include, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), QuickBooks Certification, and SAP University Alliance Recognition.

Clubs and Organizations

Olivet VITA accounting business mcgraw volunteer

Accounting Club

Olivet’s Accounting Club connects accounting students with regional and national accounting professionals from accounting firms and corporate leadership. Club leadership recruits speakers and promotes job fairs for students to secure internships to propel them to full time positions. The goal of this club is to introduce accounting majors to the various career paths that are available.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program calls Olivet accounting students to apply their faith through volunteering their time and intelligence to help the less fortunate and economically challenged in the community. In 2019, VITA completed more than 250 tax returns and helped members of the community receive over $186,000 in tax refunds they might not otherwise receive.
