The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) program is designed for a registered nurse who has earned either a diploma or an associate’s degree in nursing and wants to further their education.
As an RN-BSN student you will develop leadership skills and an understanding of the dynamic health care environment, ensuring that you can recommend constructive change and assimilate ethical, moral, spiritual, and professional concepts into your nursing practice. In addition to the 24 credit hours in the core RN-BSN program, students must complete the following general education requirements in order to graduate. ONU accepts an unlimited number of transfer credits from your RN program. To earn your bachelor’s degree, you must take 30 hours of upper division credit hours at ONU and complete any of the general education requirements listed below that have not yet been completed. - Courses: THEO 110: Introduction to Christianity or BLIT 210: Christian Scriptures AND CMIN 310: Christian Living
- Stewardship – 3 hours.
- Courses: FACS 126: Nutrition

- Courses: MATH 120: Statistics (required prior to NRSG 395)
- Natural Sciences – 6 hours total. ***usually transferred in from ADN***Biological Science: BIO 356: Microbiology (& lab)

A licensed registered nurse with a diploma or an Associate’s Degree in Nursing who wants to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
This program is for currently registered nurses. The RN-BSN program is designed for individuals who desire to further their nursing education beyond an associates degree or RN License. If you do not yet have an RN license, our traditional BSN program may work for you!
If you are currently a registered nurse with an associate’s degree program, enrolling in the Olivet RN-BSN program is the next step for your nursing career advancement. Bachelor of Science in Nursing also gets you one step closer to a master’s degree or doctorate in nursing if you plan on becoming an advanced nurse practitioner.
YES! The RN-BSN coursework is completed entirely online. The 45 practicum hours are completed with an approved, self-selected preceptor in the area in which you reside.
The RN-BSN coursework includes readings, discussion board posts, papers, and projects (such as health education presentation, physical exam, etc.). There are NO EXAMS in the RN-BSN coursework.
To be admitted into Olivet Nazarene University’s Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing program, an applicant must meet these prerequisites:
Submit a completed Olivet Nazarene University application form. An associate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution or a diploma from a school for registered nursing education. Submit a copy of your current RN license.
A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 from all institutions previously attended.
