Debra Kimberlin

Family and Consumer Sciences

Joining Olivet’s faculty — first as an adjunct professor in 2010 and then as a full-time faculty member in 2013 — has been a career highlight for Dr. Kimberlin. Currently, she teaches dietetics courses primarily, including community nutrition, food systems management, sports nutrition, and nutrition education and counseling.

In addition to being a registered and licensed dietitian (R.D.), she is also a certified nutrition educational specialist through the Society of Nutrition Education and Behavior, has served as a textbook editor, and has received a Certificate of Graduate Study in Eating Disorders and Obesity fro, Northern Illinois University. Her professional experience is in the areas of clinical dietetics and corporate wellness. She has received numerous service excellence award nominations in her work as a clinical R.D. with Sodexo.

Dr. Kimberlin is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), South Suburban Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (SSAND) and Kappa Omicron Nu honor society.

When not in the classroom or lab, she heads for the outdoors and enjoys biking, hiking and running. She also likes to cook, read and spend time with her family. She is married to Dale and is stepmother to his adult sons, Michael, Ryan and Jacob.

She is the faculty sponsor for Kappa Delta Rho, Olivet’s chapter of Kappa Omicron Nu, the honorary society of Family and Consumer Sciences.
