BJ joined Olivet’s adjunct faculty in 2000 teach introductory courses in photography, studio photography, photojournalism, and advanced business practices. Together he and his wife, Nancy, are co-owners of Image Group Photography, LLC located in Bourbonnais, IL. Image Group is the area’s largest full-service photographic studio and will be celebrating 35 years in operation next year.
He believes the opportunity to teach at ONU is a great gift from God. His professional expertise greatly influences his practical teaching style and hopes to inspire each student’s inner curiosity to grow their God-given talents.
As the former Photography Editor of the Daily Journal, he was recognized as one of Illinois’ Top Ten Photographers by the Illinois Press Photographers Association and received the prestigious “Peter Lisagor Award for Exemplary Journalism” five times from The Chicago Headline Club.
He and Nancy married in 1991 and reside in Limestone, IL. They are proud parents of two daughters, Jamie and Annie (on staff at Image Group), and are grandparents to three boys, Nolan, Caden, and Brooks. Four dogs also call them mom and dad.
