Kathleen Meleskie-Lippert

Associate Professor


Professor Meleskie-Lippert joined Olivet’s full-time faculty in 2015. She teaches courses in the READ program, preparing practicing teachers to become reading specialists. Committed to making a difference in the field of education, she enjoys working with her students as they pursue an advanced degree to teach reading more effectively.

Her professional career of more than 30 years includes her work as a professor for undergraduate and graduate students plus 15 years as a reading specialist/coach for elementary school students.

In 2004 as a member of Phi Gamma Sigma, Professor Meleskie-Lippert was part of the International Professional Society Graduate Program at Nova Southeastern University. In 2001, she completed the required courses and graduated from the Park Forest/Chicago Heights SD 163 Administrative Leadership Academy.

She is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), International Reading Association (IRA), National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Her professional accomplishments include presentations for IRA, Illinois Reading Council and ERIC Publications.

Outside the classroom, Professor Meleskie-Lippert enjoys traveling, exercising, shopping, reading and watching movies. Her most treasured times are those she spends with family and friends.

She and her husband, Richard, are the parents of two children, Adam and Alison.
