Mary Beth Koszut joined the Olivet faculty in 2012 to teach courses for the Art and Education Departments. Formerly a K-12 art teacher, she now heads up the art education program and teaches a variety of studio arts courses. Having received her MFA in painting from Bradley University in 2011, Professor Koszut continues to make and exhibit work on a local and national level. Her metaphorical images combine representational and abstract elements depicting the struggle to balance everyday life.
To inspire her creative self, Professor Koszut enjoys wheel throwing, yoga, & hiking in the woods. She and her husband, Jeff Tongren, married in 2016, are now raising their 3 children: Evette, Charlie, & Anna Grace Tongren.
