We proudly offer the DoDEA Student Leader Scholarship to all traditional students who are accepted to Olivet from a DoDEA high school.

Your hard work and dedication through your involvement in the DoDEA school system make you an ideal candidate for enrollment at Olivet Nazarene University.  Students from DoDEA schools have had great success at Olivet in the past, and we want to continue building opportunities for students like you to be part of the Olivet community.

We are committed to making Olivet a financially affordable option for your family. The DoDEA Student Leader Scholarship is a $19,000 scholarship, renewable for all four years of your full-time enrollment at Olivet, beginning in Fall 2025. This is the minimum award you will receive. Like numerous Olivet students, you may also be eligible for additional need-based financial assistance. We encourage you to complete the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible so that your need-based eligibility can be determined.

Olivet is proud to offer additional financial assistance to veterans and active-duty service members through multiple GI Enhancement Programs including the GI Bill.

ROTC

Olivet’s Roaring Tiger Battalion is one of the top ROTC programs in the nation. It offers students, in any academic major, the opportunity to learn lifetime leadership and management skills. Cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army upon graduation from Olivet. Army ROTC offers two-, three-, and four-year scholarships that pay full tuition and mandatory fees.

US Department of Defense Awards ONU

For outstanding support of military member employees and their families, ONU recently received the Above and Beyond Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). This award recognizes employers at the local level for going above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act by providing Guard and Reserve employees with additional, non-mandated benefits.

Olivet’s campus is located in Bourbonnais, IL, just 50 miles south of Chicago. Students are a quick car or train ride away from the third largest city in the United States, with access to two world-class airports, making it easy to travel home for summer and winter breaks.

The Village of Bourbonnais, home to our 275-acre campus, provides ONU students with access to a variety of local internships, recreation, dining, and entertainment in a safe, friendly environment.
