English Teaching

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in English Teaching is designed for students who want to hone their English skills and pass on their love for the English language.

Curriculum Highlights

At Olivet, students in the English teaching program take courses through the Department of Education and the College of Arts and Sciences - making English Teaching an integrated major. In addition to literature and writing curriculum, students take two courses in fostering literacy.

The Department of English works in cooperation with the Department of Education to meet the requirements for licensure for teaching in the State of Illinois. In addition to field experiences within the classroom, students will complete a professional semester while student teaching.
