Galina Kiep

Adjunct Professor, Bassoon


Galina Kiep is a sought-after solo, chamber and orchestral musician. She has been a member of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra since 2014, and has played with ensembles such as the San Diego Symphony, the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera and Ballet orchestras and the Philadelphia Orchestra. She has participated in many music festivals including the Atlantic Music Festival, the Pacific Music Festival, the Colorado College Music Festival and Music From Angel Fire.

In addition to her performance engagements, Galina currently serves on the faculty at Carthage College, Olivet Nazarene University and the Music Institute of Chicago and runs a private bassoon studio. Galina attended the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where she studied with both Bernard Garfield and Daniel Matsukawa. She recieved her Master’s of Music degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University where she studied with Benjamin Kamins.
