General Studies

The Department of General Studies exists to help undergraduate students transition to university-level curriculum, set academic and life goals, and develop academic skills and attitudes required for personal and professional success.

General Studies courses and peer-programming are designed to come alongside students to foster confidence and competence across all areas of study.

Student Goals

Students who participate in General Studies programming will:

  • Take responsibility for their academic progress and success.
  • Understand their own learning process and how to apply success strategies to all undergraduate coursework.
  • Learn about all support services available to them throughout their academic career.
  • Seek appropriate and timely help to reach personal and academic goals.
