Favorite class at Olivet – My favorite class was “Professional Communications”. This class taught me more about building a speech, organizing information and how to better present myself. The class wasn’t easy, but Professor Beth Patrick-Trippel made the course content so much fun.
Best Olivet memory – Each year I choreographed my class’ Ollies Follies variety show, and in my final year we won! Getting to work on a project that honored my time in college, and with some of my closest friends, will always stick with me.
Favorite Olivet professor – Professor Jerry Cohagan was by far my favorite professor during my time as an undergrad. He quickly became a mentor to me and challenged me academically, spiritually and creatively. A large part of who I am is because of Prof C.
Hobbies – In my free time I enjoy gardening, movie marathons, and photography. I am also connected with the theatre community in Kankakee county and love to get involved in any capacity I can.
Favorite extracurricular activity as a student – Each year a student team directs and produces a Broadway Revue in the fall. I was on the directing team for two years and loved the creative freedom and getting to bring my ideas to life. I highly suggest going to see an ONU Theatre production, they put on great shows.
Favorite place to eat in town – It’s hard to pick just one place, but the top of my list includes Isidros, Five Guys, and Brickstone.
Favorite campus tradition – I was lucky enough to be crowned “Mr. ONU” in 2018, and I love going back to that event each year to see what the guys come up with.
Favorite thing to do in Chicago – I love going to see the new exhibits at the Chicago Cultural Center. The architecture is beautiful, the history is so rich, and it’s free!
Advice for new students - I was always told “you’ll never look back on your time in college and wish you slept more”. I highly encourage getting out of your comfort zone and trying new things, there is so much at Olivet to explore.
Favorite Bible verse: “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially those who belong to the family of believers” Galatians 6:10
