Adjunct Professor of Clarinet


Katherine has served as an adjunct faculty member at Olivet Nazarene University since 2018, where she has taught applied clarinet. Katherine received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northwestern University and Master of Music degree in Applied Clarinet/Woodwind Specialist from Michigan State University. She was privileged to study with Richard Robertson, Jerome Stowell, Fred Ormand, Robert Marcellus and Clark Brody.

She has maintained a private studio, teaching clarinet and woodwinds for over 25 years. She taught middle school band/chorus for 13 years and high school band/orchestra for 3 years in Illinois. She has also served as the Administrative Assistant to her husband in his piano tuning business, Robert Evans Piano Service, since 2010.

Currently she performs with the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra, which she joined in 2012. She is an All-State Clarinet Adjudicator for the Illinois Music Educators Association and a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, Sigma Alpha Iota and the International Clarinet Association. She and her husband, Robert, have been blessed with two children and seven grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, swimming and hiking the National Parks.
