Dr. Williams has been teaching accounting and tax courses at Olivet since 1994, except for a two-year stint at LeTourneau University in Texas from 2013 to 2015. Before coming to Olivet, he was a shareholder in a CPA firm in Lawrence, Kansas.

At the 2001 Commencement ceremonies, Dr. Williams received the Richard M. Jones "Excellence in Teaching" award. He desires to help students understand their identities, first and foremost, as children of God; and believes that such awareness inspires them to excel in all they do.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he owns and operates a small tax and accounting practice in Bourbonnais, serving individual, business and not-for-profit clients. This enables him to bring practical experience into the classroom and provide internship opportunities to students. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Tax Professionals.

In his leisure time, Dr. Williams and his wife, Renita, enjoy camping and hiking - especially in the Rocky Mountains.
