As part of our Portraits of Strength & Hope, and the Strength & Hope Campaign for Olivet Nazarene University, we sat down with Ben to dive into an in-depth conversation with one of baseball’s finest, Ben Zobrist.

From a remarkable 14-year career, claiming two World Series titles, to being named the 2016 World Series MVP, Ben’s journey on the diamond is legendary. His humble beginnings at Olivet Nazarene University, to his time with teams like the Tampa Bay Rays, Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, and Chicago Cubs saw him earning three All-Star selections and showcasing his rare ability to excel in multiple positions. But his story goes well beyond baseball. Off the field, Ben has faced significant challenges, including injuries and mental health struggles. These experiences fueled his passion for understanding the mental and emotional aspects of life, leading him to create Champion Forward. Through this initiative, Ben dedicates himself to supporting and uplifting the sports community.

“It’s learning how to how to take a position of service, but it’s also learning how to pursue greatness from a kingdom minded perspective, which is like serve first and learn the word of God and trust the Lord every step of the way.” Ben Zobrist

Join us for EXTRA INNINGS, as Ben shares his Olivet story, his transition from professional athlete to mental health advocate, and his mission to empower athletes, parents, and coaches on their journey to success and well-being.
