CONSISTENCY KEYS ONU’S FOURTH-PLACE FINISH AT MBU SPRING INVITATIONAL

ALTON, Ill. – The four scorers for the Olivet Nazarene University women’s golf team all finished within six strokes of each other to lead the team to a fourth-place finish at the Missouri Baptist Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.

Alexandria Jones led the way for the Purple & Yellow Gold thanks to a strong round on Saturday. The two-time CCAC Women’s Golfer of the Week shaved eight strokes off her second round to card a 168 and earn sole possession of 16th place.

The next three Tigers were all within two strokes of one another. Lizzie Howard (84-88) finished with a 172, Faith Dalton (87-86) fired a 173, and Mara Bakke (88-86) carded a 174 to place 17th, 18th, and 21st, respectively. Mya Jones also competed for the Tigers.

The Purple & Yellow Gold took seven strokes off their second round to improve to fourth place with a 687 (347-340).

The Tigers will now turn their attention to the postseason at the CCAC Women’s Golf Championships at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., Apr. 22-23.
