BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University’s (ONU) women’s soccer team put on a show for Senior Night, cruising to a 6-0 win over Indiana University South Bend on Wednesday. The Tigers were relentless on both sides of the ball, celebrating their seniors with an offensive explosion and a clean sheet in front of an energetic home crowd.
ONU wasted no time getting on the board, with Hannah Dela Vega striking in the 8th minute off a precise assist from Alaina Bahr. The Tigers maintained relentless pressure throughout the first half, creating several opportunities but settling for a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The second half saw the Tigers come alive offensively. Dela Vega netted her second goal just two minutes after the restart, assisted by Kaylee Evers. ONU’s attack continued to click, with Brooklyn Hulliberger adding a third goal in the 72nd minute, set up by Melea Miller, before Miller got her own name on the scoresheet just a minute later. Dela Vega completed her hat trick in the 86th minute with help from Tessa Kowalski, and Emily Greene capped off the scoring with a last-minute goal at 90:00, putting the exclamation point on a 6-0 victory.
Looking Ahead
The Tigers will take their momentum on the road as they near the end of the regular season, facing Trinity Christian College in a conference matchup on Oct. 29th, with kickoff set for 3 p.m. CST. ONU will aim to keep their winning ways alive as they push for a strong finish in conference play.
