Diana Caise ’06 M.A.T. is the new head coach of the Olivet Nazarene University Tiger men’s and women’s swim and dive teams, beginning in fall 2018. She is familiar with the ONU swim program, having served as an assistant coach for two years and having watched her son, Montana Caise ’16, compete with the Tigers for three seasons.

“I am excited for this opportunity to continue working with this tremendous group of student-athletes and in being able to help them reach their goals, in and out of the pool,” says Coach Caise of her new role.  “I am also extremely appreciative of all of the support from the faculty and staff here.  I truly feel blessed.”

Coach Caise brings a wealth of experience to the pool deck and the athletic department. She has served as a swim instructor locally at Riverside Health and Fitness Center since 2011, holding the same position at Lifetime Fitness prior to that. She is familiar with the classroom, having been an adjunct professor at Kankakee Community College and a science teacher for Kankakee School District No. 11. She has also been a personal trainer at the Kankakee YMCA since 2011 and served as a personal trainer consultant for Axcess Physical Therapy since 2014.

In the short six year existence of ONU Swim, the Tigers have filled the walls of their home in the Perry Student Life and Recreation Center with their vast accomplishments. The men’s team has captured two NAIA National Championships (2016, 2017), two Runner-Up finishes (2014, 2015) and two third place finishes (2013, 2018). Individually, the men have captured 23 national titles and five relay titles. The women’s team has one NAIA National Championship (2017), two Runner-Up finishes (2016, 2018), a third place (2014), fourth place (2014) and a sixth place finish (2015). The women have 15 individual titles and six relay championships.

Olivet’s swimming and diving program began in 2011 under the leadership of Scott Teeters. Competition began in the fall of 2012, and the Tigers headed to their first NAIA National Championships in the winter of 2013. He led the men’s team to the University’s first NAIA National Championship in 2016. A year later, the Tigers swept the podium bringing home both the men’s and women’s titles.
