The Olivet Fund will be launching a special initiative within the next few weeks — dedicating 100% of dollars raised directly towards student scholarships. This exciting opportunity will continue through Saturday, October 31. The University invites everyone who believes in both new and returning Olivet students to make a gift of any amount.
Regarding this concentrated fundraising focus, University President Dr. John C. Bowling remarked, “I encourage every family, friend and partner of Olivet to prayerfully consider joining Jill and me in this important effort to alleviate the financial burden of Olivet students at this time. Together we can secure a bright future for a world in need, now more than ever, of young men and women who bring about the Kingdom through both their personal and professional lives.”
This current focus on student scholarships is in response to the increased financial difficulty students and their families are facing due to COVID-19.
In spite of the pandemic, Olivet has stayed busy throughout the summer making some extraordinary changes and advancements around campus — such as the complete renovation of Reed Hall of Science and Wisner Hall of Nursing. Thanks to lead partners Rick ’85 and Debbie Dykhouse, these exciting campus improvements are funded — allowing the University to concentrate on raising funds to help students return to Olivet.
Erika Moeschke ‘12, Director of the Olivet Fund explains, “A university education is a hefty investment and 99% of Olivet students receive financial support in the form of scholarships, grants and loans. Many Olivet students would be unable to attend without the support of generous donors. Development initiatives like the Day of Giving, and focused appeals like this one, ensure that students have the funds needed to continue in their pursuit of a high-quality education.”
Olivet prepares students for lives of service to their communities as educators, nurses, social workers, pastors, engineers, business owners and beyond. They invest their time at Olivet through academics, athletics, social activities, spiritual practices and volunteer experiences. Each gift makes a difference in the life of a student and directly impacts the future. Please consider making a donation at olivet.edu/give.
