Olivet Nazarene University faculty members Jon Seals ’03 and Bill Greiner will present original artwork in the Miller Hall Inaugural Art Exhibition “Ineffable Manifestations” at Yale University’s Institute of Sacred Music in New Haven, Connecticut.
The opening reception and gallery talk is Feb. 22, 2019 and the artwork will be on display until June 18, 2019. The exhibition celebrates the opening of Miller Hall and the Institute of Sacred Music’s dedicated support of the arts.
The Institute of Sacred Music exists to provide an interdisciplinary education to church leaders by building faith through and with artistic expression.
Professor Seals joined Olivet’s full-time faculty in 2018. He graduated from Yale University’s Divinity School in 2015 with a master’s of art in religion. In addition to exhibiting his original artwork, Professor Seals is speaking in Marquand Chapel at Yale Divinity School on Feb. 22 and also curating the exhibit. This will be the sixth exhibit he has curated for Yale University.
Chair of the Department of Art and Digital Media, Professor Greiner has paintings displayed in several galleries across the Midwest and included in five national Art Institute collections. This will be his second featured exhibition at Yale University.
Later this spring, Olivet will host representatives from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music to create a path toward graduate school for talented undergraduate students who wish to pursue a deeper understanding of the intersection of faith and art.
