Olivet Nazarene University forward Nic Reed has claimed the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award for the 2018-19 season. He is a junior majoring in marketing and finance.
Nic averaged 29.0 points and 6.5 rebounds, while shooting .576 from the field (19-of-33) and .850 from the free throw line (17-of-20) during the week of Oct. 29 to Nov. 4, 2018. Even more impressive, he made the first 10 field goals and scored the first 22 points for the Tigers in their 82-58 win against Goshen College (Indiana) on Saturday, Nov. 3. He finished with 37 points on 15-of-22 shooting from the field that day.
On Nov. 2, in an 83-57 setback to NAIA No. 1-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University, Nic totaled 21 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Tigers.
As of Nov. 8, 2018, Tiger men’s basketball sits at 3-1 on the season.
