As the 2017–2018 academic year began, Olivet Nazarene University welcomed its largest student body in the 110-year history of the University. The latest issue of Olivet The Magazine takes a look at the worldwide reach of the University’s current students and alumni.
In this issue, University President John C. Bowling weighs in on the importance of the Olivet experience. His story of a student who took time to say thank you is one readers will long remember.
Congratulations are definitely in order for President Bowling, as readers will learn in the story about him and his presidency.
The Serpe family shares why their three sons — Eric, a freshman; Kyle, a sophomore; and Ryan, a junior — chose Olivet’s engineering program. “From the very first moment I walked onto Olivet’s campus, I felt Christ’s love,” says their father, Dr. Joseph Serpe.
On the practical side, Drs. Les ’84 and Leslie (Young) Parrott ’84 introduce their new personal assessment tool, Yada. They are the directors of Olivet’s new Center for Healthy Relationships. Their son, John, is now a freshman at Olivet.
Stories about Missions In Action (M.I.A.) trips and the International Business Institute (I.B.I.) summer academic program provide many illustrations of how lives change when students extend their reach.
