In the winter 2020 issue of Olivet The Magazine, University President Dr. John C. Bowling reminds the Olivet community of the first and best Christmas gift and the resounding implications of God’s love for the world.
Two Olivet alumni, Dawn (Jordan) Broers ’96 and Kayla Bisonette ’13, contribute insights on the unique ways they are able to share their unique talents in the local and global communities they live and work in.
In the first person feature, Nate Degner ’92 reflects on the impact of his Olivet education on his faith journey and his career as a music teacher in Flint, Michigan. Raving fans, Joseph and Michele Serpe explain why they see value in the University for the education of all four of their children.
“Love is All Around,” features the stories of Olivet students and faculty on the ways they invest their time and resources in Kankakee County through the wide variety of campus service organizations.
The “With Honors,” series features highlights from the second volume of ELAIA: The Honors Journal of Olivet Nazarene University. The journal is published annually with the capstone research projects of graduating members of each Honor’s Program cohort.
Additionally, Jeff Doolittle ’90/’98 MBA looked back on how his career brought him back to the University and Dr. Les Parrott ’84 gave his perspective on the importance of looking for ways to spontaneously show grace to others.
The 65-page issue highlights news stories covering the academic and athletic accomplishments of students, faculty and alumni and features photos from Homecoming & Family Weekend.
