Olivet Nazarene University has been selected by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) to receive over $10 million in state grant aid to improve the infrastructure on campus. In a press release issued on Monday, January 22, 2024 the IBHE announced that Olivet is among 45 private, not-for-profit colleges and universities in the state of Illinois that will receive a share of $400 Million in capital grants.
These funds are awarded in partnership with the Illinois Capital Development Board and are earmarked for construction, repair, and renovation of campus infrastructure. IBHE Executive Director Ginger Ostro stated, “Private institutions are a valuable part of Illinois’ higher education ecosystem, and these funds will help institutions complement the work to close equity gaps outlined in each institution’s equity plan.”
Olivet will receive $10,717,518 in grant aid, issued as reimbursements as they complete campus improvement projects.
“We are immensely grateful to both the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Illinois Capital Development Board for granting these funds to Olivet,” shared Rob Lalumendre, VP for Operations at ONU. “This grant will allow us to make infrastructure improvements that will enhance and complement the Olivet experience for Olivet students for years to come.”
