Olivet Nazarene University’s Ben Hill has claimed Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Baseball Player of the Week accolades for the first time this season. He is a senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan, majoring in business administration.
Ben, a catcher for the Tigers, hit safely in all five conference games in which he appeared en route to a .471 overall batting average (8-for-17). He closed out the week by going 3-for-4 with three doubles and two runs batted in in a 10-3 second-game win over Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday, March 17.
For the week, four of Ben’s eight hits went for doubles. He also drove in six runs with three coming in a 12-7 victory to open up the three-game series with Calumet on Friday, March 16.
Olivet Tigers went 3-2 on the week, and the team is 13-11 overall, as of March 20.
