
NEENAH, Wis. – The Olivet Nazarene University men’s tennis team picked up its fifth and sixth consecutive team victories this weekend, taking down Concordia (Wis.) and UW-Stevens Point at Valley Fitness Sunday afternoon.
ONU opened the day with a 6-1 victory over the Falcons before picking up a clean 7-0 sweep over the Pointers to improve to 11-3 overall on the season.
The Purple & Yellow Gold was victorious in all six doubles matches, with Sanskar Choubey and Paul Saleh winning the top doubles matches. Chatton Haws and Andres Viedma took down both of the No. 2 matches, while Davi Toledo and Hector Romero were victorious in the No. 3 bouts.
Chatton Haws, the defending CCAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, handled both of the top singles matches. He knocked off Concordia’s Landon Sather in straight sets 6-1, 6-4 before downing UW-SP’s Steven Benoy in a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 super tiebreaker.
Multiple Tigers contributed to Sunday’s wins, with eight different Tigers picking singles victories. Haws, Davi Toledo, and Juan Banuls each picked up a singles win in both matches.
The Tigers will now turn to the conference slate, beginning with a road match at St. Ambrose Saturday.
