ONU Director of Athletics Mike Conway announced Monday that Lauren Glenn will serve as the Athletic Department’s Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).
Glenn, who is entering her 11th season as ONU’s head women’s basketball coach and her 16th year at the university, will be taking on the SWA duties effective immediately. The senior woman administrator is the highest-ranking female involved in supporting an institution’s intercollegiate athletics program. The intent of this designation is to promote meaningful representation of women in leadership and management within the ONU Athletic Department.
“Lauren represents what ONU Athletics is all about,” said Conway. “She is well respected on campus and in the community and will continue to support our coaches and student-athletes, as well as provide valuable input to the athletics department as our SWA.”
Glenn’s designation will serve as a valuable resource for ONU coaches, staff, and student-athletes who seek guidance, support, and advocacy.
“It’s a privilege to serve our athletic department in this role,” said Glenn. “I am grateful to Coach Conway and our administration for entrusting me with this opportunity and I look forward to collaborating with our coaches and leadership to continue moving ONU Athletics forward.”
Glenn has been no stranger to success during her tenure at ONU, turning the women’s basketball program into a perennial contender and staple in the NAIA National Tournament. Her fast-paced, up-tempo game strategy, colloquially known as ‘Tigerball’, has resulted in nine 20-plus-win seasons and nine NAIA tournament berths in her 10-year tenure at ONU.
