Olivet’s newest Sanctuary isn’t found in Centennial Chapel or College Church, but along the Kankakee River in the rural town of Momence, Illinois- just ten miles from the Bourbonnais campus.
Nicknamed the Olivet Sanctuary, the 100 sprawling acres of diverse riverfront and marshland property now serves as a living laboratory for research and conservation purposes. Generous donors Dale and Tracy Swanberg have provided the property now being used by biology, zoology and environmental studies students the chance to study the four distinct ecosystems of marsh, prairie, woodland and river.
